Heavy traffic on M25 Dartford Crossing QEII Bridge after fuel spillage

Drivers are facing huge delays this evening after a diesel spillage at the Dartford Crossing.

Two lanes on the QEII Bridge heading into Kent are closed to allow highways workers to clear the fuel and repair the carriageway.

Reports suggest tailbacks are stretching back 14 miles, causing delays of more than two hours.

Heading in the opposite direction, into Essex, queues are said to be stretching back eight miles, causing delays of more than an hour.

It comes after a lorry's diesel tank spilt this morning.

The bridge is expected to be completely closed from 10pm to allow workers to complete the repairs.
