Fire in shed reaches chalet bungalow at Darenth Wood Road, Dartford

A fire destroyed a shed and reached the edge of a nearby chalet bungalow.

It erupted at Darenth Wood Road, Dartford, just before 7.45pm yesterday.

Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control and were at the scene until 9pm.

The fire had reached the corner of the home but not got inside it and the occupants had got out safely and in time.

Firefighters now believe that the blaze, which destroyed the shed, was caused by a fault with a tumbledryer being used inside it.

Three fire engines were called to the scene, from Dartford, Thames-Side and New Ash Green.
