It comes after a resident in Wrotham Road, Meopham reported their house had been broken into while they were out on December 29.

Jewellery was stolen from inside the premises and officers started an investigation that included gathering forensic examination from the scene and a review of CCTV footage.

Then a week later, between January 3 and January 10, a further house was targeted near Ash Road, Longfield.

Entry was allegedly gained to the premises and rooms were searched before the intruder left empty-handed.

An investigation into the incidents was completed by the Kent crime squad and on Monday (April 22), a suspect was detained in Romford.

Lorenc Stefanaj, of no fixed address, has since been charged with two burglaries.

He was also charged with an additional burglary in Banstead, Surrey between February 1 and 5.

The 31-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (April 25).
