Traffic was at a standstill for more than two horus after a vehicle broke down at the Dartford Tunnel.
Two lanes were shut on the M25 anti-clockwise between J1a for the A282 at Swanscombe and J31 for West Thurrock.
One of the tunnel bores was closed.
It happened at around 4.10pm and all lanes were fully open by around 6.30pm.
