Two arrested after people report seeing a firearm in Liverymen Walk in Greenhithe

Two men have been arrested after people spotted what they thought was a firearm.

Witnesses reported seeing several police cars in and around Palladian Circus, Greenhithe, earlier today.

Officers were also seen in Vaughan Close and one person said they had seen a white Range Rover taken away.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report of what was believed to be a firearm seen in Liverymen Walk in Greenhithe at 12.15pm on Friday 31 March.

“Officers attended the scene and a gas-powered weapon was recovered from a vehicle.

“A 44-year-old man from Sidcup and a 22-year old man from Sidcup were arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm.

“They currently remain in police custody while inquiries are ongoing.”
