Woman injured by car at crossing in Bartholomew Way, Swanley

A woman had to be taken to hospital after she was knocked-down by car last night.

The emergency services were called out to Bartholomew Way, at about 6pm when the woman was hit.

It is understood the accident happened on a crossing near the Asda supermarket and police closed the road while paramedics tended to the woman.

The woman's injures are not thought to be life-threatening, but she was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.

Lucy Hurdle, spokesman for police, said: "Kent Police was called at 6pm to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Bartholomew Way, Swanley.

"Officers attended the scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment."
