Max Cornhill is relishing the chance to prove himself as a Conference Premier player with Dartford next season.

The 26-year-old midfielder left Chelmsford to sign for the Darts this week, alongside former Clarets team-mate Kenny Clark.

Cornhill was playing in Ryman League Division 1 North with East Thurrock United just over two years ago but he isn’t daunted by the prospect of trips to Luton, Wrexham and Grimsby.

He said: "I’m excited to get my chance in Conference Premier. It will be the highest level I’ve ever played at.

"Every club you go to, whether it’s higher or lower, you always need to improve otherwise you won’t go anywhere.

"I’m glad Dartford have given me the opportunity to play in this league, against players from bigger clubs."
