The Darts were in complete control at half-time but their losing run extended to 10 games after two late goals for the visitors in Skrill Premier.
“It’s a massive blow (with) the (run) that we are on, but the second half we didn’t play as well as I thought we should,” said Burman.
“We didn’t get the ball to the areas that we wanted to and we didn’t have it enough in Welling’s half.
“Once we didn’t get the second goal, the mentality at the moment is if our opponents get one then they get another one quickly after.
“I felt that Welling dictated it second half as we didn’t do what I asked at half-time. We didn’t do enough to get the second goal.”
Burman was also disappointed with the way Dartford conceded the two goals, particularly the second one when he felt his team should have cleared their lines.
“The first goal (we conceded) was a poor clearance in the middle of the goal when we’ve tried to clear it,” he said.
'We had a clear opportunity to clear the second one and I can’t accept that.'
“We had a clear opportunity to clear the second one and I can’t accept that. If ever it needed to be hoofed down the line, all these people that tell me we play hoof-football, then we wouldn’t have conceded that second goal. It’s not good enough.
“If we’d done what I asked them to do better then I don’t think Welling would have come back as much as they did.”
Dartford, who were without the injured Danny Harris (knee), are due to host Woking on Saturday.
But the rain on Friday plus the state of the pitch after the Boxing Day defeat must make that a major doubt to go ahead.
“Looking at the pitch and the forecast, it looks crazy,” said Burman.
“In all fairness, it shouldn’t have been played on (against Welling) but it was and it was the same for both sides.
“Woking have got some good results lately and they’ve been on a run which can happen for any team down at the bottom. But we’re making it very difficult for ourselves. If you are taking 1-0 lead in games then you’ve got to get the next goal and we’re not doing that at the moment.”
