Dartford captain Garry Cook insists his table-topping team have nothing to lose in their pursuit of back-to-back promotions.

Playing in Kent League Division 1 for the first time since 2007, Dartford have lost just one of their first nine games and they’re 26 points clear of the chasing pack.

Unbeaten since the opening day of the season, Cook’s side have played positive cricket and the skipper insists that won’t change in the second half of the campaign.

He said: "We’re over the moon. We never expected to be going quite so well and we’re just having fun.

"I think we’ve got a good side with plenty of good players and we’ll see where we end up.

"We’re going into the unknown now because we’ve never played win-lose cricket. We’ve got nothing to lose with nine games left.

"Even if we lost every single game, with the bonus points we’re not going to be relegated so we can just take the handbrake off now."
