People in Dover are being invited to donate Christmas presents for children in hospital.

Members of the 69 Motorcycle Club have joined forces with Dover Mayor Cllr Sue Jones and with the support of the KM Group are reviving the annual Christmas Toy Run.

All the presents which are collected will be delivered by custom trike and trailer to the children’s ward at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital on Saturday December 18 with club members and the Mayor and Mayoress going along for the ride.

The Mayor, a former member of the club, said she was really pleased to have been asked by the 69ers to help promote the event.

"It makes Christmas extra special for me to take part in community events like the toy run," she said.

"There will be local children who have to spend the holidays in hospital and we wish to make them smile for a little while.

"The staff at the hospital also need some thanks for looking after them at this time and all year round so there will be a special box of chocolates for them too. It will be quite a sight when the bikes pull up in the hospital car park."

Donations of toys, money and goodies can be left at the Dover Town Council offices in Biggin Street, Dover. They can be wrapped but please mark the parcel with its contents.

For further information about the event or joining the 69 Club call Caroline or Ian on 01304 823851.
