Burger Brothers' annual chilli challenge will take place today at 2pm at the Deal Hoy in Duke Street.

Competitors will line up on the benches outside and race to eat ten chicken wings covered in death sauce.

Owner Karl Wozny said: “They will have five minutes to eat them and then there’s a five minute after-burn where they can’t touch their faces.”

Head chef David Perkins said: "After the after-burn they're allowed a drink of milk."

The winner will be awarded £25 and the runners up will be given a bottle of hot sauce.

Mr Wozny said: “Get there early, get your name down and enjoy a beer and a burger beforehand.”

Entry costs £5 and places are limited. To take part arrive at 1pm.
