Ex Royal Marines embark on run between St Margaret's and Walmer to mark 350th anniversary

The 350th anniversary of the inception of the Royal Marines corps was marked in a special run on Sunday.

Ex marines handed out special t-shirts at the bandstand in Walmer on Sunday morning before embarking on the run from South Foreland lighthouse in St Margaret's.

The challenge saw the group run back to the bandstand followed by drinks at the Royal Marines Association club on The Strand.

One of the ex marines is believed to be cycling the jaunt because he was injured in action.
