Man arrested after suspected stabbing in Redsull Avenue, Deal

Police have arrested and charged a 41-year-old man from Deal after a suspected stabbing.

James Larkin from High Street, Deal, was arrested and charged with assault after the incident in Redsull Avenue on Saturday.

He was remanded in custody by the court yesterday and is to appear before Margate Magistrates Court on September 8.

Emergency services including at least three ambulances and several police cars descended to the street following reports of the incident around lunchtime on Saturday.

Press officer Martin Very said: “We were called at 1.08pm on Saturday, August 27 to a report of an assault in Redsull Avenue, Deal.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious.

“He was taken to hospital to be treated by medical professionals.

"In connection with this incident, 41-year-old James Larkin from High Street, Deal was arrested and charged with assault."
