Student Florence Colgate has won a national natural beauty competition, and will become a face that appears in stores throughout the country.

Florence, 18, who lives at Bowling Green Lane in Deal, is a sixth former at Dover Grammar School. Last week she appeared to Mercury readers to vote for her after winning through to the final three in the younger category of the competition on the ITV programme Lorraine, hosted by Lorraine Kelly.

The aim was to find the most naturally beautiful people in the country, highlighting beauty without make-up, botox or cosmetic surgery.

Thousands of people cast their votes, and this morning it was announced that Florence had won.

Her prize is an all expenses paid trip to a modelling shoot in London, to appear on posters in Superdrug stores across the country, and to feature in the shop’s in-store magazine Dare.

Full story in this week's Dover Mercury and East Kent Mercury.
