Sparkly shoes set to make cash for Breast Cancer Now

A pair of customised high heels will be auctioned off to raise cash for Breast Cancer Now.

Sarah Woods, from Deal, is an artist who specialises in hand painted and glittering bespoke shoes. She sells them as far afield as Australia.

Her mum, Pauline, who features in the Calendar Girls of Deal 2016 calendar, wearing her daughter’s shoes, has had breast cancer and is her inspiration.

She said: “For that reason Breast Cancer Now is a charity that is close to my heart. I wanted to do something to help the cause and it got me thinking, surely my shoes can do that.

“Firstly, I offered up a chance via my business page for those who had recently purchased the fabulous 2016 calendar to go into a prize draw to win a pair of my customised shoes, and the winner was delighted.

“I have also created a special pair featuring one of my most popular designs – The Galaxy – on a pair of heels, not too high, not too low, in a size 6 to be donated to an online raffle Kerry Rubins will be organising.

“I hope they can raise some money for this amazing cause and go off to a super new home. Every single penny raised will make a difference.”

To auction will start at £15 on the Deal and Kent Breast Cancer Now’s Facebook page, today (Thursday). Bids can be made up until November 26.
