The multiple world and Olympic track cycling champion will race under the Team Duo banner, driving the same Pat Doran-owned Citroen C4 he raced to fifth place in the opening round of the 2020 5 Nations BRX campaign. He takes on 17 other drivers in what will be the biggest Supercar field in the British Rallycross Championship’s recent history.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be getting back in a rallycross car, it’s been a couple of years but I can’t wait,” said Hoy.

“I’m also really excited to see the new jump at Lydden; it sounds like what was already an amazing track is now even better.”

While Hoy has raced the C4 at Lydden previously, and finished on the podium at the same venue in the RX150 Rallycross Championship, he is yet to drive on the new-look layout.

He will employ previous rallycross experience from 5 Nations BRX events, having raced a Ford Fiesta in World RX at the Spanish round in 2019, along with past runs in GT and endurance racing, including the Le Mans 24 hours.
