Abandoned car destroyed by fire in woodland

An abandoned car was set alight in woodland last night and now remains completely destroyed.

Firefighters were called to Barfrestone Road in Elvington, between Dover and Deal, at 10.30pm.

They were unable to tell the model of it because of how badly burnt it was.

The fire is subject to a police investigation, it is understood.

Crews used a hose reel jet to put the blaze out and were at the scene for around half an hour.

KentOnline has contacted the police for a comment.
