August 11 official opening date of St James' retail and leisure complex, Dover

St James' has been thriving over the last five months but definitive opening date was last Saturday Aug 11.

The weekend saw the official opening of Dover's major new leisure and retail complex.

It marked the almost complete filling of all units with only four left vacant.

Visitors that Saturday gained prizes after being chosen at random, samples and balloons throughout the day.

Managers from leading businesses on the site were there to greet customs.

They were Paige Townsend and Linda Baker of Poundland, Jason Solomons and Lexi Godfrey of Trespass, Kira Biggs of Shoezone, Annie Maddison of Card Factory, Clare Blackmore of Greggs, and Russell Males of Cineworld.

Also there were Emilie Tyler of Costa at Next, Lauren Firmager if Next Chris Tallamy of M&S, Sharon Muroa of Pep & Co and Steve Smith of the Food Warehouse.

The very first business open at the long-awaited £53 million development was Cineworld on March 9.

Other businesses that followed were Travelodge and Costa Coffee in April, Superdrug and the M&S Foodhall in May and Next in July.
