Dover Hill closed for around five days because of road works

Today has marked the start of an order to temporarily prohibit traffic on B2011 Dover Hill due to roadworks.

Dover Hill is closed from the junction with Hill Road, in Folkestone, to where it becomes New Dover Road, with no through access from Folkestone to Dover using this route.

People who need to travel between the two towns were warned prior to works beginning with a public notice issued by Kent County Council (KCC).

Only buses, on regular stage carriage services have been allowed through the closure.

KCC ordered a prohibition of motorists using this road for up to five days, meaning that Friday could see the end of it.

Traffic has been diverted via A260 Hill Road, Canterbury Road, White Horse Hill, A20 Trunk Road, Courtwood Interchange, B2011 Folkestone Road, New Dover Road and Dover Hill.

The “nature of works” meant that it has not been possible to re-open the road outside of working hours.
