Father and daughter runners Ian Leadbetter and Katherine McKeen run Brighton Marathon for Kelly Turner

A father and daughter are today running the Brighton Marathon for Kelly Turner.

Ian Leadbetter and Katherine McKeen have so far raised £360 of the £500 sponsorship target they have set to help the teenager.

They are among a swathe of runners from the Dover district taking part in the challenge.

This is Mrs McKeen’s first marathon but her father has completed four.

Both are members of the Dover Roadrunners Club and have already completed the Deal Half Marathon and the Lydd 20 Miles in preparation.

Mr Leadbetter, 54, from Elms Vale, is a train driver for Southeastern.

Mrs McKeen, 33, of Whitfield, is married with two small daughters and runs her own business, Beauty Matters, at the Bladez hair salon in Dover.
