Train services between Dover Priory and Canterbury East temporarily disrupted after lorry hits bridge

A lorry has crashed into Kearsney Bridge in River causing yet more disruption to train services in east Kent.

Commuters travelling from Dover to Canterbury East faced delays while the bridge was inspected by engineers.

A police spokesman said: "A lorry got stuck under the bridge near the railway station just after 2pm but managed to get itself free without causing damage."

It comes after the rail line between Dover Priory and Folkestone was indefinitely shut while repair works go ahead to fix the track and cracks in the sea wall.

Services have now resumed.
