Coastbound A20 between A256 and Eastern Docks roundabout in Dover closed this weekend

A busy route is set to be shut this weekend as safety improvements continue.

Highways workers are resurfacing the Eastern Docks roundabout where the A2 meets the A20 in Dover.

The coastbound A20 between A256 Woolcomber Street and the Eastern Docks Roundabout, and the northern section of the roundabout, will be closed between 8pm and 6am on Saturday and Sunday.

Traffic will be diverted via the A256 and A2.

A National Highways spokesman said: “For access to Marine Parade, East Cliff and Athol Terrace, please approach the closure point at the junction with Woolcomber Street.”

The southern side of the Eastern Docks roundabout will be closed on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 between 8pm and 6am.

A diversion will be in place via the A2, A256 and A20.

Access to the Port will be maintained during the closures.

The National Highways spokesman added: “This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example, heavy rain or wind may affect the progress.”
