Executive head teacher, Jo Hygate and head of school, Angela Matthews issued a joint statement. It said: “We would like to thank all of the staff, governors and parents who continue to work exceptionally hard for all of our children and who have contributed to this remarkable achievement.”

MP Charlie Elphicke said: “It’s fantastic to see rising standards in Dover and Deal primary schools.

“Back in 2011/12, primary pupils in Dover and Deal were below national and county averages in reading, writing and maths. Now primary school pupils in Dover and Deal are above the national and county average.

“This is a stunning improvement. My congratulations go to all pupils, parents and primary schools teachers who have achieved so much.

“Primary school education in a child’s formative years is so important.

“A good primary education is the basis for a child doing really well in later life. I will continue to work to see our local primary schools go from strength to strength so every child has the best possible chance to do well.”
