Traffic in Dover is at a standstill and buses are affected

Traffic in Dover is at a standstill with motorists reporting long queues and buses have also been affected.

From Barton Road to the bottom of Whitfield Hill there are delays and traffic is also backed up on the A258 due to queuing for Jubilee Way.

This has meant that the number 12 Stagecoach service has been delayed to Deal from the B&Q junction to Duke of Yorks.

Buses have been unable to serve schools in Northbourne and services in Dover are stuck at Barton Road.

There have also been reports of gridlock at Buckland Avenue.

The worst traffic is said to be on Jubilee Way with lorries heading to the Port of Dover.
Earlier the Port apologised for disruption to services and traffic on the A20 due to extra security checks at the Port in the wake of the Paris attacks.

Ferry services are running with delays of between 30 minutes and two hours.
