Dover Athletic 0 Forest Green Rovers 0 match report

Dover Athletic extended their unbeaten run at Crabble to five games in Vanarama Conference Premier after a goalless draw with Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Incredibly, Kent Senior Cup games aside, Dover have gone seven games without conceding infront of their own fans - five in the league with two more in the FA Cup.

It has been 463 minutes of league action since Macclesfield were the last away team to find the net in a Conference game at Crabble on September 13.

Dover boss Chris Kinnear had to make two changes to his line-up for the clash due to the absence of the suspended Tom Bonner and Tyrone Sterling with Liam Bellamy and Tom Wynter replacing them.

Bellamy slotted in at right back, captain Connor Essam switched to centre back while Winter replaced Sterling at left-back.

In a game of few chances, Luton Town loanee Solomon Taiwo had Dover's first shot on goal after 15 minutes but his 25-yard effort went just over.

The visitors, who are seventh on the ladder, had the ball in the net six minutes later but the referee had already blown for a foul.

Chris Kinnear Jnr then had a shot easily saved following a corner, Nick Deverdics fired wide before Stefan Payne missed the best chance of the half.

Payne beat the offside trap but slipped and saw his shot go wide just before half-time.

And it was Payne who went close to opening the scoring in the 70th minute after his shot curled just wide.

Rovers then had a goal disallowed for a foul on Whites keeper Andrew Rafferty.

Dover had a penalty shout in the 89th minute when a cross from sub Christian Nanetti appeared to be handled.

The referee awarded a free-kick, inches outside the box.

But there was still time for more drama when the impressive Taiwo saw his effort superbly turned over by the goalkeeper in stoppage-time.

Four of the five teams immediately below Whites at the start of the day won, leaving Dover 17th, four places and five points ahead of the drop zone.
