M2 traffic delays after crash between Junction 6 for Faversham and Junction 5 for Stockbury

A person has been taken to hospital following a car and lorry crash on the M2.

The collision happened between Junction 6 for Faversham and Junction 5 for Stockbury, causing delays in the area.

Kent Highways posted about the crash on the London-bound carriageway shortly before 10am, and warned: "Allow extra time for your journey and expect delays."

A police spokesman confirmed they were called shortly before 9.30am following a crash involving a car and a lorry.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and National Highways," they said. "No serious injuries were reported."

National Highways said shortly before 11am that one out of two lanes are closed.

"Kent Police are at the location along with National Highway traffic officers," they said.

"Recovery agents are en-route to this incident, along with contractors to treat an oil spillage."

A spokesman for the ambulance service confirmed they were called to the collision.

"One person has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for further treatment," they said.
