Trains delayed after emergency services called to incident in Faversham area

Emergency services have been called to a railway incident.

Train operator Southeastern revealed the incident had been is impacting services in the Faversham area.

A tweet by the firm just after 1.30pm warns trains could be delayed, altered or cancelled.

The routes affected were London St Pancras to Ramsgate via Faversham, London Victoria to Ramsgate / Dover and Sittingbourne to Sheerness-on-Sea.

Power to the tracks had been switched off and trains were held within stations until it was safe to continue.

The operator announced just after 6.15pm that its services were no longer disrupted by the incident.
