Man's body in caravan on farmland in Romney Mash

Police were called after a young man’s body was found in a caravan.

He was found dead on farmland just off the A259 in Old Romney in the early hours of Sunday.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 4.40am. Officers are not treating this as suspicious.

“The man is believed to be a 21-year-old who had been living in the caravan.”

An inquest is expected to investigate the circumstances of his death.

The victim was named locally as Ryan Santer and tributes from friends and associates were paid on Facebook, some who said they had only recently seen him in Folkestone and Ashford.

Charlie Taylor wrote; “Saw him in Ashford town not a week ago. RIP.”

Gemma Presneill wrote: “I saw him a while ago in Onyx (Folkestone nightclub). This has shocked me. RIP.”

Steve Mahoney wrote: “Always a shame to hear that one of your old buddies from your youth has passed away. So young as well. Sleep well Ryan Santer.”
