Combine harvester destroyed by fire at Postling Down, near Lyminge

A combine harvester was destroyed by fire as firefighters and a farmer battled to stop a blaze spreading.

Crews were called to Postling Down near Lyminge at just after 7pm last Friday evening.

Fire crews helped the farmer set up fire breaks to prevent the blaze spreading but the expensive piece of farm equipment was gutted by the blaze.

Smoke could be seen billowing across a wide area, but it was out by 8.40pm.
