Three held after drugs 'found hidden in toilet' in Folkestone

A total of 60 drugs wraps hidden in the bowl of a toilet were unearthed in a police raid.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and two adults after searching an address in Pavilion Road, Folkestone on Monday.

A man and woman, 62 and 39 respectively, both from Folkestone, were arrested outside the property shortly after 10am.

The man, who was allegedly found in possession of 16 wraps of what are believed to be Class A drugs and around £100 in cash, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

During a subsequent search of the property about 60 wraps of what are believed to be Class A drugs were said to have been found hidden in the bowl of a toilet.

Later that day a 16-year-old boy from Southwark, London, was arrested on the high speed train to London at Folkestone Central station.

He was allegedly found in possession of about £1,000 in cash and was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

All three have been released pending further enquiries.

Detective constable Mick Sedden said: "This warrant was the latest action in our ongoing fight to disrupt people who are involved in the use of illegal drugs in the Shepway district.

He said: "Tell-tale signs of drug use and supply can include an increase in comings and goings at the address, strong smells of cannabis, people loitering in the vicinity or short exchanges between people on the street.

"There could be an increase in anti-social behaviour, violent incidents or shoplifting in the area.

"If you have concerns please contact us. Every piece of information can help build a picture of drug supply enabling us to apply for a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act."

He urged people with information about illegal drug use or supply to contact Kent Police on 101, Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or to speak to their local police community support officer.
