Police called after 11-year-old girl hit by car in Cheriton High Street

A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the collision in Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, which involved a Mini, shortly after 3.10pm on Tuesday (May 22).

It happened near the junction with Ashley Avenue.

The pedestrian, an 11-year-old girl, suffered a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Her injuries are not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

The driver remained at the scene.

The road re-opened before 5pm.
