Houses in Bradstone Avenue, Folkestone, evacuated by car fire

Two houses in Folkestone were evacuated early this morning after a car was set alight.

Fire crews from Folkestone were called to Bradstone Avenue at 3.30am by the police after officers on patrol had spotted the blaze.

The car was on a drive between two houses. Six people were evauated from the properties while the fire was put out.

Crew manager Andy Batchellor, from Folkestone fire station, said: “The car was well alight when we got there.

“The houses were evacuated as a precaution. There was no damage to the properties.”

Police are treating the fire as arson and inquiries are continuing.
