Emergency crews called to Folkestone Pier amid reports person had fallen into sea

Emergency crews have been called to Folkestone Pier after a man fell into the water.

Crews from Dover lifeboat, police and ambulances attended.

The man was pulled out from the sea late this afternoon.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 4.30pm due to concern for the welfare of a man in the water off Folkestone Harbour.

"Officers attended and notified the Coastguard and RNLI, who brought the man to safety.

"He is currently being treated at the scene by ambulance staff."
