Isthmian League round-up: Ian Draycott fires Folkestone, Margate take three points and Danny Kedwell gets first win in management

Ian Draycott ensured Folkestone Invicta got the new Isthmian Premier season off to a winning start on Saturday.

Draycott bagged a brace with David Smith also on target in a 3-1 defeat of Worthing in front of 836 at Cheriton Road.

Both sides missed penalties either side of half-time. Ade Yusuff was fouled on 25 minutes but Smith saw his spot-kick kept out by Harrison Male.

Then just after the break Invicta keeper Tim Roberts saved an Ollie Pearce penalty after Jasper Pattenden was fouled in the box.

Pearce scored from a free-kick to give title favourites Worthing the lead but Draycott quickly levelled from a corner.

A brilliant finish by Draycott put Folkestone ahead and Smith raced clear with 20 minutes left to seal the points.

Player/coach Ben Greenhalgh scored the only goal of the game as Margate won 1-0 at Wingate & Finchley.

Danny Kedwell's first game in management saw his Cray Wanderers side defeat Lewes 3-1 at Hayes Lane.

It was a particularly sweet win for Cray given their former manager Tony Russell, who spent six years at the club, was taking charge of Lewes for the first time.

Kedwell's new-look team went ahead through a brace by former Ebbsfleet and Bromley midfielder Anthony Cook. Ollie Tanner pulled a goal back but Jamie Yila's second-half effort completed the win.

A 21-minute first-half hat-trick by Ahmed Abdullah saw Sittingbourne record the biggest win of the day in Isthmian South East, 4-0 at home to Lancing.

Michael Akin's brilliant second-half goal wrapped up the points for the Brickies.

Corinthian got off to a winning start at Hythe in their first match after promotion from Southern Counties East.

Jack Mahoney gave Corinthian an early lead when his free-kick was too hot to handle for keeper Will Godmon.

Hythe levelled on the hour when Alex Brown found the top scorer but Michael Golding's side took maximum points in stoppage time when Luke Tanner scored from close range.

Faversham won 1-0 at Phoenix Sports thanks to an early goal from Emmanuel Oluwasemo.

Adem Ramadan's free-kick ensured Herne Bay collected a deserved point at much-fancied Hastings in a 1-1 draw.

Dave Martin gave Hastings a fourth-minute lead but Ramadan levelled on 19 minutes for Bay.

Tommie Fagg completed his hat-trick in the last minute as Ashford defeated Burgess Hill 3-1.

Fagg gave Ashford the lead on the hour and then headed in a second two minutes later.

Pat Harding pulled a goal back but Fagg burst his way through to complete his hat-trick for the hosts.

A goal in either half from Jason Thompson saw Sevenoaks win 2-1 at Whitstable, who had opened the scoring through Jake Mackenzie.

Joshua Ajayi scored twice for Ramsgate but they were pegged back at 10-man Three Bridges.

Ryan Brackpool gave Bridges the lead but Akayi had Rams in front by the break.

Brannon O'Neill levelled the scores in the second half and the hosts held on for a point despite playing the last 20 minutes with 10 men after Curtis Gayler saw red.

VCD won 3-0 at Chichester thanks to Malachi Hudson, Marcus Elliott and Anthony Adesite while Cray Valley were held 1-1 at home by Whitehawk despite Ade Adeyemo's first-half opener.
