A youngster will be undertaking a huge 50km walk to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

George Taylor, 13, of Coldharbour Road, Northfleet, is a regular campaigner for the Royal British Legion and is Kent Area Officer for the Victoria Cross Trust.

The Northfleet Technology College pupil, who lives with mum Cherry, dad David and sister Katie, said: “On the first day I will be walking from Canterbury to Dover Castle where we shall be lead in by motorcyclists of the Royal British Legion.

“On the second day we shall be walking from Dover to Caple Le Ferne where there’s the Battle of Britain Memorial, and then to Shorncliffe Garrison, the home of the Gurkhas.

“Anybody that wishes to meet us at any of these locations and give moral support is more than welcome to.”

The former Shears Green junior school pupil’s walk takes place on August 24 and 25.

Last year George was presented with a Pride of Gravesham award for his fundraising efforts.
