Roadworks close the A2 at Gravesend and cause long delays for drivers

There are no longer queues on the A2 this morning - with overrunning roadworks blamed for the huge delays.

The main carriageway is now open on the A2 London-bound at the B255 Bluewater/Bean interchange.

The roadworks were causing delays for drivers, with congestion from the A2 Watling Street to Thong Lane (Cobham.)

This was made worse, as a roadworks vehicle broke down in the area.

All roads are now passable, and the delays have now cleared.

The works were due to end at 7am, but didn't actually finish until around 8.30am.
