Emergency crews rescued a man from the riverside in Gravesend in the early hours of this morning.

Police say they were called at 2.23am to a report concerning the welfare of a man in Hall Road, near Perry Street in Gravesend.

The man was found more than a mile away at The Shore, at the riverside.

Gravesend RNLI, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended the area.

The man has since been taken to a local hospital where he remains under the care of health professionals.
