A YOUNG motorcyclist fatally injured in a collision with a car at a roundabout in Thong Lane, Gravesend, last Saturday has been identified by Kent Police.

He was 23-year-old Sonny Whittam, of Havelock Road, Gravesend, a father of two young children.

He was taken to hospital after the crash but died later, two days before his birthday.

Jason Parker, 19, a close friend, said Mr Whittam's partner, Sally, was being comforted by family members. He added: “Everyone liked him. He was a lovely person and a good dad.”

A 16-year-old riding pillion suffered a fractured skull in the collision. The woman driver of the car was unhurt.
