The A2 London-bound has fully re-opened after a lorry left the carriageway and went through a safety barrier near Gravesend.
The lorry ended up on a grass embankment alongside the road, which was also affected by a fuel spillage.
The incident saw the busy road closed for a while, while the vehicle was recovered and the fuel spillage dealt with.
All lanes have now re-opened with Kent Police and the Highways Agency saying normal traffic flow will soon be resumed
Drivers experienced long delays on the approach to the scene while the emergency services dealt with the spillage and recovery of the HGV.
