Gravesend man Edison Mulaj appears in court charged with rape in Parrock Street, Gravesend and attack in Norfolk Road

A man charged with a string of offences including three counts of rape following alleged attacks in Gravesend has been remanded in custody.

Edison Mulaj, 19, appeared before magistrates in Dartford on Saturday accused of three counts of rape, an attempted rape, a sexual assault and robbery.

The most recent alleged incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, when a woman called police to report she had been raped by a man in an alleyway off Parrock Street.

She claimed the man also stole some of her belongings.

Officers arrested Mulaj, of New Road, Gravesend on Wednesday, and charged him the next day.

The attempted rape, sexual assault and robbery charges relate to another incident in the town.

A woman reported she had been sexually assaulted and had her bag stolen in Norfolk Road on February 16.

Malaj was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, April 17.
