A man has been charged on suspicion of carrying a knife in a town centre.

Officers were called to Milton Road, Gravesend just before 6pm yesterday following reports a man had been spotted with a blade.

Zbigniew Winiarski was located and detained in connection with the report five minutes later.

The 52-year-old, of no fixed address, has since been charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

He has been released on bail to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday May 19.
