A man who appeared drunk at court after also being intoxicated at a leisure centre has been sentenced to prison.

Ruvinder Singh Dhami, 40, of Brook Road, Gravesend, was first arrested on November 22 when he was found drunk in Clive Road.

Three days after the incident, he was arrested again at Cygnets Leisure Centre after being in a similar state and again at Dartford Magistrates Court two days later.

He was sentenced to 42 days in prison after admiting three charges of being drunk in a public place and failing to surrender to the court without reasonable excuse.

He must also pay an £80 surcharge.
