Man treated for 'stab wound' in Northfleet

A man has been taken to hospital after apparently stabbing himself in a busy street.

Police were called to London Road, Northfleet, just before 6pm last night after horrified shoppers reported the incident.

The Kent air ambulance was scrambled and landed in a nearby field but the man was taken to hospital by road.

Unconfirmed reports said the man, in his 20s, was found with a serious "stab wound" on the pavement outside Yummy’s Chinese takeaway in London Road at 6.40pm.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else.
