Drivers experienced long delays on the M20 motorway near Swanley on Saturday evening while an injured driver whose car had hit the central barrier was treated at the scene.

Kent Police was called at 6.51pm on Saturday to reports of a road traffic collision on the coastbound M20, shortly before junction 2 for Wrotham.

A white car had been in collision with the central reservation.

Police closed the M20 from junctions 1 to 2 to allow a woman driver to receive medical treatment. She was then taken to a local hospital but her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The road was re-opened at 8.25pm.
