The 12 Days of Christmas in Gravesend came to an end at the weekend with a celebration of pipers piping and drummers drumming.

The City of Rochester Pipe Band performed a lunchtime concert with Scottish and Christmas tunes in Windmill Street.

But what should have been an all-day event had to be abandoned because of atrocious weather, for the twelfth day of Christmas.

There were, however, performances from Steel Ambition, a Caribbean Steel Band, dance from Bethany’s School of Dance and singing from the Rock Choir.

The events in the town have been running since November 15, starting with the Christmas parade and lights switch-on.
