A woman is in a serious condition after being hit by a car.

The victim, in her 30s, was knocked down by a black Mercedes Benz in Darnley Road, Gravesend, near the junction with Weavers Close.

Police and ambulance crews went to the scene, and the woman was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries. She has since been released.

The incident happened at 8am on Friday, September 16, but details have only just been released as police launch an appeal for witnesses.
