Ebbsfleet midfielder Theo Lewis is set to miss the first three months of the new season.

Lewis, who joined from Woking in January, injured his knee during the Fleet's training camp in Portugal last month.

Fleet boss Daryl McMahon said: "Theo's going to be quite a while.

"He's going to see a surgeon next week so he'll probably be out for around three months.

"It's a nightmare for him. He was actually training really well in Portugal. He just opened his knee up, the pitch was a little bit soft and he rolled into it."

The prognosis is better, though, for Michael West and Aiden Palmer - who also have knee problems.

McMahon said: "West won't be a million miles away and neither will Palmer.

"They'll miss the start of the season but they won't be a million miles away after that."

Ebbsfleet begin their Vanarama National League South campaign at home to Basingstoke Town on Saturday, August 8.
