Ebbsfleet United sign Dover Athletic defender Sam Magri

Sam Magri has signed for Ebbsfleet after rejecting a new contract offer at Dover.

The Malta international spent two seasons at Crabble, helping Whites reach the National League play-offs in 2015/16.

But the 23-year-old right-back is now set to line up against Chris Kinnear's side in Kent derbies this season after agreeing terms at Stonebridge Road.

Magri came through Portsmouth's youth system and made his professional debut in 2012 before joining Queens Park Rangers on a two-year contract.

He never played for QPR's first team, though, and after a loan spell at Nuneaton Town, earned himself a short-term deal at Crystal Palace.

Magri was there for a year before trialling at Dover in summer 2015.

He is newly-promoted Ebbsfleet's fifth new signing this summer after Danny Mills, Jack Payne, Bagasan Graham and Myles Weston.

The National League fixtures are released on Wednesday.
