Ebbsfleet United host National League leaders Macclesfield Town live on BT Sport

All eyes will be on Stonebridge Road this weekend when form side Ebbsfleet host leaders Macclesfield in front of the live TV cameras.

Macclesfield arrive in Kent six points clear at the top of the National League and hot favourites to clinch promotion back to the Football League.

But Fleet are riding the crest of a wave after Monday's exhilarating derby win against Dover extended their unbeaten run to seven matches and blew the play-off race wide open.

They'll close the gap to just two points with a game in hand if they beat the Silkmen in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon said: "It's brilliant, we can't wait. Macclesfield are a very good side but we're looking forward to it and all the pressure is on them.

"They're the team trying to win the division and we're just trying to upset a few along the way.

"We're the underdogs and I'm sure the crowd will make it a great atmosphere."

McMahon was always played down Fleet's play-off chances but they're right in the hunt with seven games left.

He said: "If we can get into the top 10, it's a great achievement and if we can finish higher, brilliant.

"But we've got some tough fixtures coming up: Macclesfield on Saturday, Wrexham, we've got to go to Barrow, Gateshead and Torquay and Sutton come here as well.

"They're tough games but we'll take each one as it comes and there's no pressure on us.

"We can play with a freedom that maybe the other teams can't. We'll be playing on that a little bit.

"I watched Macclesfield play recently at Maidstone and they're a very good footballing side so I'm sure it'll be a good game.

"There's more pressure on them than there is on us and we've got to thrive in that sort of environment.

"The crowd on Monday created a great environment for us. They were behind the team from minute one, singing for the whole game and they got what they deserved."

The win against Dover was Fleet's fifth in seven games and they're now four points behind their Kent rivals with two games in hand.

McMahon said: "Dover have been in this league four years, we've been in it 10 months and there isn't a lot between the teams.

"We have to build on that and make sure we keep progressing as a club, on and off the pitch."

Kick-off on Saturday is at 12.15pm and Fleet then host Wrexham on Tuesday (7.45pm).
