Maidstone United goalkeeper Lee Worgan and Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon win monthly awards

Maidstone goalkeeper Lee Worgan has been named Vanarama National League South player-of-the-month for September and Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon has claimed the manager-of-the-month award.

Worgan didn't concede a single league goal during September as Stones climbed to sixth in the table with wins over Havant, Maidenhead and Bath and a draw at Gosport.

He also clocked up his 100th consecutive appearance for the club.

McMahon led Fleet to victory in all five of their league matches and that run helped them open up a nine-point gap at the top of the table.

The 32-year-old oversaw wins against Maidenhead, Margate, Sutton, Havant and Weston as Ebbsfleet extended their unbeaten run in the league to 11 games.

"I’m delighted to receive this," McMahon told the club's website.

"Any award of this nature isn’t an individual thing. It reflects on the staff, the players and the fans, it goes right through the club.

"I’m lucky, I have a great staff, a great bunch of guys in the dressing room and great support behind the scenes and on the terraces.

"What we’ve achieved this month and whatever we achieve for the rest of the season is down to all of us, not just a couple of individuals."

Ebbsfleet play Maidstone at Stonebridge Road on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
